Weather worries force postponement of charity event
By David Wood | 17th June 2021
This Sunday's Pied Piper Appeal charity event at Highnam Court has been postponed until the following Sunday (June 27) due to a poor weather forecast.
Over 250 classic cars and trucks were due to be on show at the venue near Gloucester, but an inclement weather forecast has led organisers to put it back by a week.
A tweet from the Pied Piper Appeal said: "Sorry guys, due to predictions of rain, thunder and lightning we are concerned about the safety of visitors and people's vehicles. We are postponing to the following Sunday, 27th June. Same arrangements just a week on!"
The one-day event - Pied Piper's first in over a year - will showcase hundreds of classic cars and shiny big trucks from across the ages up to 1995.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the landscaped gardens including the famous lake, picturesque rose gardens, flowering borders and the wooden sculpture trail.
There will be a range of hot and cold drinks, cakes, food and ice cream for visitors to purchase in the grounds.
Admission will be just £7.50 entry per person and children are free. Gates open from 10am till 4pm and parking is free.
The Pied Piper Appeal makes a difference to sick and disabled children in Gloucestershire.
