Wall's celebrates International Ice Cream Day in Gloucester

To mark International Ice Cream Day on Sunday (July 18), Wall's is bringing its first-ever vending machine to Orchard Square at Gloucester Quays...offering free ice creams.

Wall's is giving away a selection of its favourite ice cream brands including Twister, Calippo, Solero and Feast, FREE to lucky locals all day*!

The event will take place between 10am and 6pm on Sunday when the Wall's vending machine will serve up the delicious ice creams in return for making a happy connection together.

Gloucester is the heartland of British ice cream, having been the home of the Wall's factory since 1958, producing over 20 million ice creams every week. Hosting ice cream day here and getting the community involved in its Happy Hearts initiative is just one way Walls is giving back to the place it has called home for many years.

Getting involved in the Wall's Happy Hearts Initiative and ice cream giveaway is easy:

Step 1: Come down to Orchard Square from 10am with a member of your household to use the vending machine

Step 2: Give the vending machine a smile and make a heart shaped sign with your hands (either a full heart with both of your hands or a half heart alongside someone else's half)

Step 3: A snap of your hands will be taken, unlocking a free ice cream for you!

You will also receive an email with your Happy Hearts picture to post on social media using #HappierTogether.

Wall's is on a long-term mission to inspire happy connections across generations of ice cream lovers and the Happy Hearts initiative is another step on that journey. Locally, Wall's is set to do this through its new I'm Wall's programme in Gloucester, which will aim to connect young people who may feel unsupported and excluded from career opportunities, with a traineeship allowing them to gain the confidence, skills and experience they need to start building their career and find long-term employment.

Andrew Cummings, Gloucester factory director at Unilever, Wall's said: "We are delighted to be bringing our very first heart-fuelled Wall's vending machine to Gloucester to celebrate International Ice Cream Day.

"The city of Gloucester is very important to us as it's the home of our ice cream factory and our new I'm Wall's programme. These are just some of the things we're doing on our choose happier together mission and we are delighted to be making the city a happier place, one ice cream at a time."
