Wacky Races are back in the Cotswolds
By David Wood | 26th April 2022
Tetbury's Wacky Races are back for the crowds on Bank Holiday Monday, May 2.
This year's event will be sponsored by Arkell's Brewery's The Priory Inn, recently taken over to be managed by husband and wife - Matt and Natalie Starkey, with their children, Tommy 11, and Zoe, eight years old.
The event is attracting gravity racers from across the UK.
Tetbury Lions Club organised the first Wacky Races in 2012 as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee Celebrations and has since been an annual event.
Despite the 2020 cancellation, due to the Covid pandemic, the team have been working to make sure Tetbury Wacky Races 2022 will be the biggest and most exciting yet.
Tetbury Lions are proud to present a FREE event for all the family, and thank everyone who gives their time and talent to make it a success.
Matt Starkey of The Priory Inn said: "We are delighted that Arkell's have backed the races. This is our first year of being here to see them and the children are looking forward to it nearly as much as I am.
"Community is important to us here at the Priory and we want to say thank you to the town for the support they have offered us and the business so far and hope they like what we are doing with the offering here," he added.
