By David Wood | 4th December 2019
Where: Tetbury
When: Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7
Excitement is mounting in Tetbury as the Gloucestershire town prepares to get all festive this weekend.
Tetbury's Christmas Lights Switch On takes place on Friday, December 6, from 5.30pm, accompanied by festive music, carols, market stalls and the chance to visit Santa in his grotto.
Watch the lantern procession from 5.40pm and join the Mayor and a pupil from St Mary's Primary School for the big switch-on from 6pm.
There will also be the opportunity to do some late night shopping in the town's beautiful independent shops and boutiques.
Community Carols will be sung at the Market House from 5.45pm and after the big switch-on at 6pm Santa's Grotto and Children's Christmas Crafts will take place in the Market House from 6.15pm to 7.30pm.
On Saturday, December 7, from 5.30pm Tetbury's Community Christmas Carol Service will be held at St Saviour's Church, Tetbury.
For the third year in a row Tetbury Town Council will be hosting this amazing community event - with the success of the last two years' services and the popularity of the free mulled wine and mince pies, it will all be happening again.
All are welcome and wrap up warm as it's a closed church - there's no heating system! All donations received will go to the Churches Conservation Trust.
Tetbury Christmas Tree Festival and Memory Tree runs from Friday, December 6, to Monday, January 6. For the third year in a row Tetbury Town Council will host this fabulous festival - come and see a festive array of beautifully decorated trees supplied and decorated by local organisations, schools and clubs all in the beautiful setting of St Saviour's Church.
You also have the opportunity to leave your memories of loved ones, friends and family, on the Christmas Memory Tree.
