Take two: Gloucester Independent Film Festival returns
By David Wood | 18th March 2025
After last October's sell-out success, Gloucester Independent Film Festival returns with a star-studded programme.
Oscar Wenman-Hyde and Joshy Lee, two local filmmakers are at the helm of Gloucester Independent Film Festival as it returns to Gloucester Guildhall on Saturday, April 12, from 10am until 11pm.

The second event follows on from the sell-out success of the film festival's debut back in October 2024.
The new and improved event promises a diverse programme of red carpet premieres, networking opportunities and career progression for those looking to get into the film industry and for film fans alike.
Joshy Lee said: "After selling out twice in October 2024, the second season of Gloucester Independent Film Festival is all about further building a hub for filmmakers and film fans to connect, network and celebrate one another.
"Independent filmmaking is hard, especially in this current climate, so it's more important than ever to support one another and grow together."
Oscar Wenman-Hyde added: "GIFF not only champions the future of filmmaking but also the future of Gloucestershire's existing artistic community."

The curators behind the event believe that this will become a cultural staple in the city of Gloucester and hope that with the event's continued growth, it will bring further opportunity to the area for all.
The evening programme includes the highly anticipated short thriller, Twain, directed by Pip and executive produced by Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People, Twisters) as well as Rodent by Joe Feraday, which is backed by the Silverback Films, the world leading producer of natural history films.
In addition to the evening guests, the festival will be screening all of the nominated films in the cinema at the Gloucester Guildhall from 10am on April 12. These include the feature films Signs of Life, directed by Joseph Millson, Two Big Feet directed by Noah Stratton-Twine, The Spin directed by Michael Head and The Monster Beneath Us directed by Sophie Osbourne, as well as a diverse selection of short films, documentaries, animation and music videos.
Tickets for this event are available now from the Gloucester Film Festival website and can be purchased as individual screening tickets or as a festival pass, which grants you access to the entire programme from 10am until 11pm on Saturday, April 12.
