Summer of fun for children and families across Gloucestershire

Where: Various venues across Gloucestershire

Where: Various dates

Details of a fun-packed programme of events and activities for children and families to enjoy across Gloucestershire during the summer holidays have been released.

'Summer off the Streets 2018' is made up of a wide selection of family fun days, skate park events, drop-in activity sessions and children's workshops, with many of the events and activities being offered for free.

Local community and arts organisation World Jungle is running the programme again this year, with funding support from Gloucestershire County Council's Children and Young People's Activity Fund and Cotswold District Council.

Activities will be taken into the heart of communities with individual week-long programmes being delivered in Highnam, Pittville, Prestbury, Tetbury, Stroud, and Gloucester.

Each of these programmes will include a variety of activities ranging from cooking, circus skills, drama, arts and crafts to sport, games and climbing sessions.

There will also be larger events including a Stroud Playday on Sunday, August 5, an Adam Philby Skate Jam at Tetbury on Sunday, August 12, a Cirencester Skratch 'n' Skate event on Sunday, August 5, a Chipping Campden Playday on Thursday, August 2, Fairford Fun Day on Saturday, August 18, Highnam Playday on Sunday, August 19, Barnwood Fun day on Saturday, August 11, and more.

Details of the full summer programme can be found on the World Jungle website.

Some activities have limited spaces and require booking as they tend to fill up quickly, so organisers encourage people to visit the website and reserve spaces as soon as possible.

The programme also links in with national campaigns including Love Parks Week and Play Day 2018.

The funding for the scheme was made available under the 'Children and Young People's Activity Fund', a grant scheme from Gloucestershire County Council encouraging more sport and physical activity across the county.
