Summer Jam 2022: The Lakefest Warmup

The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham is gearing up for its free family music festival, Summer Jam this weekend.

Taking place on Friday 29 - Sunday 31 July, this year promises to be the best yet.

Now in its fifth year, the festival has gained recognition and increased association with Lakefest - the region's biggest family friendly festival - and will therefore be partnering together.

Summer Jam 2022: The Lakefest Warmup will be three jam-packed days of live music and DJs, including Lakefest's firm favourites, such as Roving Crows, Erica, The Brethren, The Shakes, Alex Lipinski, Lisa Unique, Glastonbury DJ Joei Supernova and DJ Shippers - all of whom promise to get people up on their feet dancing - or at least feet tapping as you sip your drinks sat in the sun!

Also on the hot list are previous Summer Jam favourites; Camilla Lewington and her band Just Shut up and Dance, and The Mark Walby Band. Newcomers Sophie Cotterell and Andrew Bate & Chloe Gorman will each be opening up the Saturday and Sunday sessions respectively. Featuring an eclectic line-up of acts from pop to rock, folk to funk, indie to disco - there is something to suit all tastes.

Alongside the music, some of the bars and restaurants from within The Brewery Quarter will be coming out to play, including The Alchemist; Brewhouse & Kitchen, The Botanist, Cosy Club and Hub Box who will be offering beers, cocktails, wine and soft drinks on different days, whilst restaurant guests are encouraged to sit outside to enjoy the atmosphere with some alfresco dining.

For children, enjoy entertainment on Saturday and Sunday with magician and entertainer Colin Dymond, alongside a community art wall with Cheltenham Paint Festival encouraging children to help create a public work of art.

If you've not purchased a Lakefest weekend ticket yet, Summer Jam may give you a flavour of what to expect. Tickets will be on sale at Lakefest's shop at the Summer Jam event.

Lee Martin, founder of Lakefest, commented: "We're delighted to be collaborating with The Brewery Quarter and giving the people of Gloucestershire a taste of Lakefest.

"Our own festival takes place a couple of weeks later, in the beautiful Eastnor Castle country estate, on 11-14th August. Our festival offers people a jam-packed weekend escape, with family friendly laid-back vibes, awesome music, street theatre, red arrows, wrestling, and SO much more. We hope that Summer Jam: the Lakefest Warmup encourages people to grab some last minute tickets while they're there!"
