The Royal pub in Charlton Kings will be hosting a Bank Holiday weekend of food, drink, four-legged furry friends, live music and more with their annual Summer Festival.

All donations from the weekend will go to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

The weekend event will kick off on Friday 26th August with the Ale and Cider Festival, where visitors will find a great variety of both to enjoy.

Sunday will bring with it the much-loved Royal Dog Show supported by Murphy's Grooming, where entrants can bring their pooches to be judged in five different categories with an overall winner. If you think your dog has the 'waggiest tail' or 'best trick' or could be the 'prettiest lady' or 'most handsome chap', make sure to bring them down to the competition!

Live music from Cheltenham-based band Slowjin is set to follow, with a Mega Quiz at 8pm.

On Monday 29th August there will be plenty of fun for the little ones, with The Music Man making a special appearance to get the kids singing, as well as arts, crafts, face painting and garden games throughout the day.

For the grown-ups, five live acts will be performing throughout the day including Union of Strings and the Mark Walby Duo to name just a couple, with pizza served between 12 and 8pm, along with the lunch menu until 6pm.

"We are so pleased to be able to raise money for our good friends at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice too, as it's a charity very close to our hearts. Now we just need the sunshine to stay!"
