'Strengthening Communities' events in the Cotswolds

Cotswold District Council has announced a series of 14 community events across the district, made possible by funding from the Strengthening Local Communities fund.

These events are designed to bring people of all ages together, fostering stronger community connections and offering support to residents.

Each event will feature a variety of activities tailored to different age groups. Children and young people can enjoy fun and engaging activities led by providers such as World Jungle or Cotswold Active Camps.

Adults will have the opportunity to participate in gentle exercise sessions, relaxation therapy, or simply enjoy the social atmosphere.

In addition, a local business will provide food at each event, with the goal of ensuring these gatherings remain low-cost for attendees.

The council is partnering with key organisations in the communities such as Cotswold Friends, Working for Wellbeing, The Door and many more, to help plan and deliver the events.

Cllr Claire Bloomer, cabinet member for communities, said: "These events aim to create inclusive spaces where everyone in the community can come together, share experiences, and access valuable support. The council invites residents to spread the word and participate in what promises to be a heart-warming and supportive series of gatherings."

The events will run from 3pm until 6pm at the following places:

  • Tuesday, February 18 - Redesdale Hall, Moreton-in-Marsh
  • Thursday, February 20 - Bingham Hall, Cirencester
  • Tuesday, April 15 - Victoria Hall, Bourton-on-the-Water
  • Tuesday, April 22 - Community Centre, Fairford
  • Tuesday, May 27 - Mill House Care Home, Chipping Campden
  • Wednesday, May 28 - The Dolphin Hall, Tetbury
  • Tuesday, July 29 - St Georges Hall, Blockley
