Stellar line-up at Three Counties Show

Where: Three Counties Showground, Malvern

When: Friday, June 15, to Sunday, June 17

The much-loved cast of BBC Radio 4's The Archers will be sharing insights into life on the world's longest running soap opera at the Three Counties Show this week.

Cast members will be delving deep into life on the farm in Ambridge at The Wellington Boot Theatre.

Friday sees the outrageous and wayward Lilian Bellamy (Sunny Ormonde) and the king of daft schemes Eddie Grundy (Trevor Harrison).

Saturday welcomes 'Queen of the Dairy', Ruth Archer (Felicity Finch) and the ever so slightly crooked Matt Crawford (Kim Durham).

Sunday hosts Home Farm's very own alpha male Brian Aldridge (Charles Collingwood) and love rat Adam Macy (Andrew Wincott).

Pinned as a landmark event in the agricultural calendar, the show's theatre also boasts a stellar line-up of local sporting stars and rural characters from across the three counties.

Back by popular demand, BBC Countryfile presenter and Gloucestershire farmer, Adam Henson, is making a return for 2018 as show ambassador and will take to the stage each day to share his expert farming knowledge.

Bargain Hunt and Flog It! regular Phillip Serrel will be stopping by on both the Friday and Saturday to show off his impressive antique knowledge and auctioneering skills.

Having played more matches for his hometown club than any other current player, multi-award-winning Worcester Warriors centurion, Jonny Arr shares tales from his outstanding career on Saturday.

Chris Pennell, who also plays for the Worcester Warriors joins his team mate. Chris is the son of England cricket legend Graham Dilley and made his first team debut in 2006. Chris is a Type 1 diabetic and champions using sport and nutrition as a way of managing diabetes.

The inspiring Sophie Carrigill completes the line up on Saturday. Following a devastating car accident at the age of 16, Sophie was left paralysed, however, determined to carry on, she decided to take up wheelchair basketball at age 17. Sophie went on to captain the GB Women's wheelchair basketball team at the Rio Paralympics in 2016.

The Sunday line-up welcomes gold medal winning Paralympian Claire Cashmore MBE who has competed as a swimmer in the last four Paralympic games. Claire was awarded an MBE by the Queen and is a fantastic ambassador for disability sport, regularly giving motivational talks to both children and adults.

Libby Henson, daughter of the late Joe Henson, also joins the line-up on Sunday and will no doubt be bringing her passion for livestock breeds to the Royal Three Counties Show.

Head of show Diana Walton said: "We are thrilled to be able to welcome back BBC Hereford and Worcester's Andrew Easton as host of the Wellington Boot Theatre and what better way to celebrate the show's 60th year at Malvern than with the wonderful cast of The Archers?

"The line-up this year is the best one yet and we can't wait to throw open the gates to welcome visitors to join in the fun."
