Spring secrets at Westonbirt Arboretum
27th March 2018
Where: Westonbirt Arboretum, near Tetbury
When: Tuesday, April 3, to Friday, April 13
Spring may be slow in coming this year but the Forestry Commission's Westonbirt Arboretum will be exploring its secrets throughout the Easter holidays.
Westonbirt is laying on special family events, trails and activities - something to do every day!
At the Spring Secrets family event you can discover the relationship between trees, their flowers and the insect pollinators who visit them.
You can get involved in art activities, making a scented folded insect or a pompom bee! Don't forget to join the Easter Discovery Challenge to win a small Easter treat.
Explore Westonbirt's amazing early flowering magnolias and their insect visitors during the Marvellous Magnolias family event - try your hand at making the prettiest felt flowers and other crafts to take home.
On your way in at the Welcome Building be sure to pick up our Bloomin' Marvellous Spring children's trail map to help you discover even more on your seasonal family walk around the arboretum - find and draw catkins, design an insect and search for different Spring wildflowers ticking them off when you spot them.
If you still have the energy after all that, follow our Highway Rat Trail in the Old Arboretum - there's lots to look out for and do on the trail and you a can purchase a Highway Rat pack at the Welcome Building to explore in more detail. All events are free after admission.
