Ski lesson with Eddie the Eagle among charity auction lots

Where: Prinknash Abbey Park, Gloucester GL4 8EU

When: Friday, October 11, 12pm

Chorley's will be hosting a Charity Auction of Promises in aid of medical charity Cobalt at their Prinknash saleroom on Friday (October 11).

The 25 charity lots up for auction include a one-on-one ski lesson with local Olympic ski-jumping legend Eddie the Eagle Edwards, a day in artist Kate Dove's studio and a year's worth of haircuts at Cheltenham salon Stuart Holmes.

There's also a tour of Berkeley Castle by Charles Berkeley for up to eight people, and lunch in the yurt, as well as a child's mascot package at Cheltenham Town Football Club.

All the proceeds from the sale will be donated to Cobalt who help people affected by cancer, dementia and other conditions.

The money raised at the Chorley's auction will be used to fund two new breast cancer research nursing posts to enable research trials to take place in the Gloucestershire Hospitals, under the direction of Professor Iain Lyburn and Dr Sarah Vinnicombe.

These posts will lead to local involvement in new national and international clinical trials, contributing to breast cancer research.

Chorley's director and auctioneer Catrin Hampton said: "Cobalt are doing amazing work helping people affected by cancer, dementia and other serious illnesses.

"The unique lots include exclusive experiences and individual items that are not available to buy, with personal tours and access to some of the Cotswolds' greatest personalities and businesses. We're delighted that local businesses and the community have come together to join forces and support this extraordinary charity."

All are welcome to attend the auction, there will be refreshments and nibbles from 11am with the auction commencing at 12pm.

People can bid in person, by leaving a commission bid with Chorley's or online on Chorley's new bidding platform Chorley's Live accessible through the Chorley's website. Online you can choose whether to submit a maximum bid in advance of the auction or watch and bid live online on the day.

Chorley's have waived all fees for this special auction, so the price the lot sells for is the price you will pay.
