School's Autumn Fair set to benefit two Stroud charities
5th October 2017
Where: Beaudesert Park School, Minchinhampton
When: Saturday, October 14, 9am-4pm
Beaudesert Park School in Minchinhampton has announced the two local charities set to benefit from its annual Autumn Fair which has raised more than £80,000 for charity in the last 13 years.
Open to all, the Autumn Fair is a shopping event which takes place at the school and features over 30 local stallholders offering a huge range of goods from jewellery to gin and toys to pyjamas.
Proceeds from this year's event will be divided between The Nelson Trust and Allsorts - both based in Stroud.
Fiona Womersley of Beaudesert, who helps organise the event, said: "There are many organisations doing great work in the area, and it's never an easy task for us to choose which to support with each Autumn Fair.
"We always favour charities which are both quite local and whose work helps children - whether directly or indirectly.
"Both The Nelson Trust and Allsorts do excellent work here in Gloucestershire, and we're hopeful that the Autumn Fair will enable us to raise lots of money to help them along."
Claire Purves, creche leader at The Nelson Trust, said: "The money will go towards running a group specifically for school-aged children whose parents need to access our services over the summer holidays."
Rosa Barratt, fundraising manager at Allsorts, said: "We work with many schools and individuals in Gloucestershire providing activities for families with disabled children. The money raised will go towards improving our Stroud Toy Library which offers toys and equipment to help with development in the early stages of life."
