Rock Choir flash mob supporting the air ambulance

Look out for an incredible Flash Mob Challenge across the region this Saturday!

This Saturday (June 29), Rock Choir singers from across the South West will be taking part in a series of "flash mob" style performances.

The flash mobs will highlight the work of Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC). They will be attempting to perform five times in one day, an epic challenge with all the logistics let alone keeping the vocals going!

The 300-strong choir will be popping up at busy shopping areas across GWAAC's region, entertaining shoppers and collecting for the charity.

Look out for performances starting around 10am at Bath in front of the Abbey, 11.45am at Millennium Square in Bristol, 1pm in Yate Shopping Centre, 2.30pm outside the Sub Rooms in Stroud and then finishing the day in style at around 4pm at the Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham.

Some venues will also feature an appearance from Charlie, GWAAC's Critical Care Bear, who loves a dance!

Rock Choir leader Alex Hawker said: "We wanted to challenge ourselves to deliver five large-scale high-impact performances in one day. All the towns where my choirs meet and sing on a regular basis are in the area covered by GWAAC with their lifesaving service. Therefore, it seemed a fantastic way to highlight their work and raise some funds to help support that."

Rock Choir is a contemporary amateur choir based on singing, friendship and having fun. Anyone is welcome and you can find out more about your local Rock Choir at its website.

GWAAC's supporter engagement co-ordinator Emma Fawcett said: "We are excited about this fantastic challenge and thrilled that Alex and the Rock Choir have chosen to support GWAAC with this event. We are entirely reliant on our local community to raise the funds that help us to provide critical care to those who need it the most."
