Revival of classic family drama
4th April 2018
Where: Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham
When: Monday, April 16, to Saturday, April 21
A major new revival of Terence Rattigan's classic family drama The Winslow Boy comes to the Everyman Theatre this month.
Based on a real-life event involving a Gloucestershire boy (commemorated on the war memorial in North Woodchester), The Winslow Boy is a courageous and often delicately humorous window into the class and political hypocrisy of the time.
This gripping masterpiece play is engrossing for Rattigan lovers or newcomers alike.
A highly charged moral drama that will have you gripped by the heart-tugging decisions facing each member of the Winslow Family.
Where will their sacrifices leave them and what is really at stake?
From the producers of the critically acclaimed The King's Speech and Single Spies, The Winslow Boy tours directly from seasons at Chichester Festival Theatre and Birmingham Repertory Theatre and is directed by Olivier Award nominated Rachel Kavanaugh.
Tessa Peake-Jones (Only Fools and Horses, Grantchester) stars as Grace Winslow, wife of Arthur Winslow, played by Aden Gillett (House of Eliott, Holby City), the father who embarks on an extraordinary campaign for justice for his son.
The play also stars Timothy Watson, who is best known for the role of Rob Tichener in BBC Radio 4's The Archers.
