Potter around Gloucester Cathedral this summer

Where: Lacock, Gloucester Cathedral and Oxford

When: Daily, by appointment

If you've got guests visiting this summer impress them with a Harry Potter Tour of England where Gloucester Cathedral is the star of the show.

Brit Movie Tours has put together the ultimate Harry Potter experience for fans and tourists - a two-day tour led by a specialist in the books and films, as well as the history of the places visited on the tour.

The adventure begins in Lacock village, in Wiltshire, with a tour of the village and Abbey, taking in Professor Slughorn's house and Godric's Hollow where 'he who shall not be named' murdered Harry's parents.

You can pop into Professor Quirrell's classroom, Snape's classroom and see where other scenes were filmed followed by lunch in an old English pub.

The next stop is Gloucester Cathedral where visitors will see numerous settings including the Gryffindor Common Room, where Ron and Harry hide from the troll and where they discover the message 'ENEMIES OF THE HEIR BEWARE' written in blood across a wall.

The day will finish with a stop to see the exterior of the Dursleys home where Harry lived before heading back to London.

Day two starts with a trip to Oxford including several of the colleges used in the making of Harry Potter films, including the grand staircase leading to the Hogwarts dining room, the Hogwarts hospital, where Ron learned how to dance for the Yule Ball, and the quad, where Malfoy is turned into a Ferret by Mad Eye Moody.

The tour will finish with a visit to Warner Bros studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made, near Watford. Fans will get to walk through the Great Hall and see sets and props from all of the films and discover behind-the-scenes information and get an insight into the artistry and craft that helped bring the books to the big screen.

The two-day trip costs £1,850 for up to five people travelling in a London black taxi with driver and guide.

You can also just do a tour of Gloucester and Lacock which costs £75 for adults and £65 for a child aged three to 15. Bookings are already being taken for school holidays in 2018.
