Panto fun to lift the January blues

Where: Bacon Theatre, Hatherley Road, Cheltenham

When: Thursday, January 18, to Sunday, January 21

Promenade Productions are staging a traditional family pantomime at the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham next week.

Aladdin is a poor lad who lives with his mum, Widow Twankey, and layabout brother in old Peking.

Things start to look-up when a supposedly long-lost 'uncle' turns up and persuades Aladdin to help him find a magic oil lamp hidden in a cave.

Abanazar attempts to double-cross Aladdin who finds himself trapped. Who will come to his rescue? Will he ever see the beautiful princess again?

Promenade Productions Panto, in support of Winston's Wish, will have all the ingredients that make it a not-to-be missed event - a large cast of singers and dancers, lavish costumes, colourful scenery and lots of audience participation.

Tickets range from £10 to £15 from Showcase on 01242 224144 or visit www.promenadeproductions.co.uk
