Outdoor Shakespeare in two lovely locations

Where: Woodchester Mansion, near Stroud, & Glenfall House, Charlton Kings

When: Thursday, August 23, 6.30pm, and Friday, August 24, 7.30pm

The Festival Players Theatre Company bring their touring production of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale to Gloucestershire later this month.

This professional theatre company, which delivers the best in open-air Shakespeare, is coming to Woodchester Mansion, near Stroud, on Thursday, August 23, at 6.30pm and Glenfall House, Charlton Kings, the following evening at 7.30pm.

Written by Shakespeare in his later years, The Winter's Tale is an intriguing mix of drama and comedy.

Sparked by an obsessive envy of a perceived relationship between his Queen and his oldest friend, Leontes, King of Sicilia, sets in motion a train of events which affect two kingdoms and two generations; there is jealousy and joy, revenge and romance, loss and discovery, remorse and revelry, and an amazing revelation.

Tremendous entertainment for a summer's evening!

Please note, these are outdoor performances and will take place whatever the weather. Please come prepared for all that the elements may offer.

Check The Festival Players website for ticket details, though some should also be available on the gate.
