Wild foodie foraging experience launches at Burleigh Court

Luxury Cotswolds hotel Burleigh Court has just launched a new wild foodie foraging experience for the summer and autumn.

Nestled in nature, the historic Grade II listed property is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty near Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire and is the ideal location to have a carefully curated wild foodie experience led by a professional forager.

The experience includes a foraging walk and wild food lunch and is priced from £60 per person.

During the foraging walk, guests will have the opportunity to identify, pick, and eat a number of local delicious edibles that present themselves along the route.

Under the guidance of a professional local forager, instruction will be given on how to safely ID edible species allowing guests to come away with fresh ideas for turning their foraged bounty into scrumptious meals.

Guests should bring their own flask of hot water so they can learn how to make their own herb tea from leaves and flowers foraged during the walk.

The experience includes discussion around seasonal eating as well as insight into the nutritional values and medicinal use of plants. Participants will also be taught about the conservation of species and their habitats, with guidance on what to take from nature, what to leave, and how to store wild food.

Burleigh Court's wild foodie foraging experience runs from 9am - 3pm with five dates currently available to book: 24 June, 22 July, 26 August, 23 September and 14 October.

With the hotel home to a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, the new experience also includes a wild food lunch prepared by celebrated head chef Shaun Jones.

For guests planning a UK staycation this year, there is also the option to book a newly launched wild foodie break which includes an overnight stay with an award-winning local produce breakfast, foraging walk and wild food lunch.
