NCLB Party in the Park

The NCLB Party in the Park, celebrating the FIFA Women's World Cup through sports, music and technology takes place in Cheltenham for the first time!

On Saturday, August 20, from 2pm until 6pm at Imperial Gardens, Cheltenham.

This summer, NCLB are launching the first-ever No Child Left Behind, World Cup themed, Party in the Park to encourage families to spend quality time together.

Post COVID, research has shown that one of the biggest challenges facing families is around finding affordable days out for their children where they can meet new friends, explore new opportunities and have great fun!

This family-friendly event, hosted by local performer Camilla Lewington, will include inflatables, e-sports and much more! Some of the highlights will be All About Fun's Human Table Football, The Jockey Club's 'Ecquiser' and The Army's E-Bus.

Throughout the afternoon, the main stage will also host performances, from local young people's bands, dance groups and performers, providing the perfect opportunity to bring along a picnic and enjoy a fun filled afternoon with your family.

The sponsors for the event are Renishaw, Cheltenham BID and Filmbankmedia. John Lewis have donated a variety of sports equipment, games and prizes.

Cllr Flo Clucas, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: "What a celebration this promises to be! We're so pleased to be launching our first ever NCLB party in the park for our local families - and with a fun 'world cup' theme.

"We know how important it is for families to be able to spend quality time together, so, come along, get involved and have a fun, care-free afternoon, enjoying all the free activities and performances.

"Join us in celebrating the Women's World Cup too! With free fun, free food, and family entertainment.

"Huge thanks to our sponsors who have been extremely generous and made this event possible."

Heath Gunter chief executive of Cheltenham BID said: ''We are honoured to lend our support to the incredible work of No Child Left Behind and their Party in the Park event. We excitedly look forward to a day filled with family fun activities in the beautiful setting of Imperial Gardens.''

The Holiday Activity and Food Scheme funding will enable some families who find themselves in more vulnerable or challenging circumstances, to receive a healthy lunch for free when they attend. These lunches will be bookable via the CABS system.

NCLB events rely on support from local organisations and volunteers. If you would like to volunteer at the event or your organisation would like to be involved, please contact nochildleftbehind@cheltenham.gov.uk
