Moreton Show set to celebrate its 70th anniversary

Where: Moreton-in-Marsh

When: Saturday, September 7

Moreton Show is 70 years old and it is little surprise that it is often called one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the country.

Come along and join in the anniversary celebrations and enjoy a day of farming, food and family fun.

The first show in 1949 attracted a crowd of 2,000, making it the biggest event in Gloucestershire. It's grown over the years, with more than 20,000 visitors expected at the 165-acre showground on the Batsford Estate in the north Cotswolds.

Traditional and always changing - that's what they say about Moreton Show. Come for the day and prepare to be surprised at how much there is to see and do.

The top-class livestock section includes the National Poll Hereford Cattle Show, while in the five equestrian rings there will be more than 1,000 entries for showing and show jumping classes, many of which are Horse of the Year Show qualifiers.

The celebration of rural life takes in dogs and goats, alpacas and chickens, more than 350 trade stands, fabulous, locally-sourced food and drink as well as the best in flowers, vegetables and home baking.

Top of the bill in the Grand Arena is the spectacular Broke FMX.

Tickets are on sale on the website at www.moretonshow.co.uk  and there are big savings to be made if you buy early.
