Midsummer Concert featuring fine musicians

Two musicians of international fame will be performing a Midsummer Concert at Lechlade-on-Thames this weekend.
Michael Bochmann, violin, and Rivka Golani, viola, will be performing a number of duos at St Lawrence Church on Saturday, June 23, at 5pm, followed by a garden reception at Ryton House.
The concert is to raise funds for St Lawrence's Restoration and Maintenance Appeal.
Brought up in Turkey and England, Michael Bochmann has been well known in British musical life for several decades. Since the early 1970s, Michael has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music through performances, media and education. His passion is to
speak directly through the language of music.
Over the last 30 years, Michael has featured extensively in the media, and produced over 50 recordings with the BBC in his work with the Bochmann Quartet, as concert master of the English String Orchestra and Orchestra Pro Anima and as a soloist.
He has performed in the USA, all over Europe and in India. In 2015 he was awarded the MBE for his services to music in the Queen's birthday honours list.
He gives private lessons, master classes and residential courses at his home in Gloucestershire.
Rivka Golani, viola, was born in Tel Aviv and became a member of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed as soloist with many famous orchestras throughout the world including the BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic.
More than 250 pieces have been written for Rivka Golani, including over 60 concertos. She draws students from around the world to her master classes.
The concert will feature works from Beethoven, Mozart, Allesandro Rolla and Johan Halvorsen.
Tickets will be available on the door.
