Meet the dinosaurs at Birdland this May Bank Holiday weekend

Intrepid dinosaur hunters and budding palaeontologists are invited to enjoy a weekend of prehistoric fun and adventure at Birdland over the May Bank Holiday (May 1st - 3rd).

Travel back 65 million years to when dinosaurs roamed the Cotswolds and discover the Jurassic Journey at Birdland Park & Gardens, in Bourton-on-the-Water.

Come face-to-face with more than 30 different prehistoric species. Visitors will also get a special Dino-Quiz Trail to complete as they venture into Jurassic Journey, using the information they find on their adventure to decipher the clues and complete the trail.

Visitors will need to look out for Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Postosuchus, Velociraptor and a group of Dilophosaurus.

Birdland manager Simon Blackwell said: "It's great to be open again and welcoming lots of families back to enjoy a fun day out in a safe and secure outdoor environment. Dinosaurs are always really popular with all ages, but especially younger family members who love our Jurassic Journey area."

As well as the Jurassic Journey and Dino Weekend fun, there will also be all of the usual residents of Birdland ready to greet visitors.

Meet England's only breeding group of King Penguins and the comical Humboldts. Explore the Out of Africa area and meet hornbills, village weavers and many more amazing birds from across the continent. Plus discover the new Parliament of Owls display.

With its combination of woodland, riverside and gardens, Birdland features more than 500 birds, ranging from birds of prey and parrots to cassowaries and cranes in a mix of free-flying and aviary displays.
