Gloucester beer lovers are in for an absolute treat over the next few days.

The Thirsty Pine in Brunswick Road is presenting its Manchester Beer Showcase with more than a dozen beers from across the Manchester area.

Andy Holian of The Thirsty Pine said: "The Beer Showcase is a new thing we are adding to our monthly line-up. Each month we will take a city or area in the UK and showcase different beers and styles from various breweries in that area.

"For the Manchester Showcase we have 13 different beers pouring across cask and keg from 11 breweries across the Manchester/Salford area.

"It's an opportunity for people to try different things, which is one thing I am all about, the education element of beer. We have beers including pale ales, stouts, a lager, a blonde ale, a red ale and even a fruited sour beer so there's something for everyone."

On Saturday from 5pm, soloist Mark Anthony will be delivering rock, pop and indie covers, including Manchester favourites such as Oasis.
