Make a difference on family canal volunteering day

Families are invited to spend quality time together outdoors while making a positive impact to a canalside nature reserve.
Cotswold Canals Connected is offering families with children aged eight and above the chance to take part in a free-of-charge family volunteering activity on Saturday, January 18. Choose from two time slots: 10am-2pm or 11am - 3pm.

Organised in collaboration with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and Stroud Valleys Project, families will enjoy lunch with other families, make nature-inspired masks and help clear overgrown scrub from the Fromebridge nature reserve in Whitminster. All materials, tools and lunch will be provided.
Sarah Burgess, Cotswold Canals Connected community engagement manager, said: "This is a great opportunity for families to leave their screens behind for a few hours and experience the feelgood effects of being in nature.
"You'll have lots of fun while caring for the environment. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to join in and have fun!"
Limited places are available which must be booked by 10am on Friday, January 17.
