Where: Painswick Rococo Garden
When: Saturday, August 4, 6.30pm
There's a unique opportunity to spend a summer's evening in the glorious surroundings of Painswick's historic Rococo Garden this weekend.
On Saturday evening, Picnic in the Park offers a rare opportunity to bring a blanket and your own food and enjoy the garden after it's closed to the public.
Guests will have unrestricted access to the stunning garden whilst being entertained by the Cranham Orchestra. There will be family entertainment, including a giant bubble artist and face painting, and ice creams will be for sale.
The event is organised by the Friends of the Rococo Garden to raise funds for the garden's restoration. As a registered charity, the garden is wholly dependent on visitors and its own fundraising to continue the work of recreating the country's only surviving rococo garden.
Garden director Dominic Hamilton commented: "The Rococo Garden was designed for an event such as this, back in the 1740s. This is a great opportunity to meet with friends in this stunning place - and help us raise much-needed funds for our restoration projects."
Gates open at 5.30pm, and tickets cost £7 (£5 for card-carrying Friends of the Garden) and are available on the door.
