Living History Craft Day at Corinium Museum

There's a chance to watch an archaeologist demonstrate prehistoric crafts at a Living History Craft Day at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester next week.

Before Corinium, the landscape around Cirencester was occupied by humans for thousands of years through the start of the Stone Age to the end of the Bronze Age. People made their tools from flint such as axes and arrowheads, then copper and bronze.

Experimental archaeologist Dr James Dilley will be at the museum demonstrating some of these iconic prehistoric crafts using authentic materials and techniques in the Hare gallery.

You'll be able to see the amazing artefacts on display while watching how they might have been made!

This event, which takes place on Wednesday, August 18, is ideal for any young people in key stage 2 about to learn about prehistory in the autumn term.

The event, which is included in the admission price, runs from 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and visitors can just drop in and watch.
