Join the 'Great Escape' in Gloucestershire

There's a unique chance to discover Gloucestershire by taking part in a charity road trip this summer.

Gloucestershire Community Foundation is organising a Navigational Car Rally on Sunday, June 25.

The event's strapline is: "Have you travelled to Cornwall 200 miles each way to explore the area but haven't explored what's on your own doorstep? Join us for "GCF's Great Escape".

Talitha Nelson, CEO of GCF, said: "I have been a participant and sponsor of this concept in Oxfordshire and so I am bringing it to Gloucestershire. We have organised a unique charity fundraiser that involves cross-sector partnerships, focusing on rural Gloucestershire - an area that gets overlooked - and where we at GCF find it challenging to the tackle the issues - so have come up with an engaging way to do so, or at least shine a light and partner with three rural charities who will share their amazing work.

"We are also partnering with some amazing venues for location stops."

Those who take part will discover hidden gems on their own doorstep, along with learning about the challenges of our rural county and inspiring a feeling of community and localism.

Tickets will include a full day's entertainment 9am-6.30pm, including breakfast, car registrations, car stickers and wristbands and early dinner, with a chance to meet some great people and have some fun with your colleagues, or family and friends.

This event will present great networking, mingling and photographic opportunities.

This navigational car rally is not about speed...it's about discovery and taking in the sights, but it is competitive, as you need to answer the quiz questions in order to get to the next destination. The winners are the cars with the highest quiz scores. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Prices are:

  • 2 in a car = Driver and co-driver £80pp. Discounts if you fill a car.
  • Extra person £60 pp. Children need to be aged over 10.
