If you are looking for a special day out with a difference why not try the next big event at Taurus Crafts? Their fourth annual Ukulele Day takes place this Sunday (August 11).

The day features live performances from a great range of ukulele groups from the Forest of Dean and surrounding area. Entertaining the crowds in the marquee will be The Big Bad Woof, The Ukuladies, The Pukes, The Uke Hunters, Lydbrook Ukulele Band and The Buskuleles of Usk.

Lightly Twned are running a open mic busking area for anyone to step up and share the limelight.

These are free beginner sessions and visitors can be playing and singing rock and roll classics in minutes! Suitable for beginners of all ages with ukuleles provided.

Alongside the live music will be a mini market, featuring an eclectic mix of antiques, collectables, vinyl records, music paraphernalia, local beer and cider, and fresh-cooked crêpes by Isabel's Bakehouse.

In addition to the delicious food available in Taurus Crafts café the catering team will be running a barbecue serving grilled chicken, classic burgers and vegetarian options.

Ukulele Day is free to enter, and the music will be under cover, so rain or shine the bands will play on!

Tom Haverly, marketing and event manager at Taurus Crafts, said: "It's all things ukulele at our fourth Ukulele Day - you can watch ukulele bands, join in with the mass jam, buy a ukulele at the mini market, have a free lesson with Sarah Kelly, bring a ukulele and join the buskers... and even make your own Hawaiian Lei necklace for free!"
