Hunt for a golden apple at the Rococo Garden

Where: Painswick Rococo Garden

When: October 20-22

The team at Painswick Rococo Garden are celebrating all things autumn with a Family Festival at the historic site.

Running for three days between Friday, October 20, and Sunday, October 22, there will be seasonal activities to captivate all ages, including autumnal crafts, baked apples, apple bobbing and a chance to pick up gardening and wildlife tips from experts.

Each day of the festival a special golden apple will be hidden in the garden and the lucky finder will win a whole year's free family admission.

In a brand new development this year, visitors can now bring their own apples and juice them whilst on site. Working with the Painswick Orchard Group's wonderful apple press, fruit can be juiced, pasteurised and bottled in return for a small donation towards costs.

The juicing machine will be in operation over the festival weekend, as well as every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until October 28. So if you've fruit to spare - the more the better - just call 01452 813204 in advance to book your juicing slot.

"We've been delighted to see so many more families enjoying our gorgeous garden this year, and our Family Autumn Festival comes at a time when the leaves on our ancient trees will be looking fantastic" said Dominic Hamilton, garden director.

Autumn Festival activities take place between 10.30am and 3pm, with the timetable available at the Rococo Garden website.
