Hucclecote Show set to be the biggest yet

Where: King George V Playing Fields, Hucclecote, Gloucestershire, GL4 3EX

When: Saturday, June 16, 12 noon - 10pm

The Hucclecote Show, organised by the Hucclecote Community Association (HCA), promises to be a fun-filled community show for the whole family.

The free event, due to take place this Saturday, June 16, at King George V Playing Fields, attracts thousands of people every year.

Described as 'the biggest community event in the city', the show boasts a whole host of arena entertainment, both community and trade stalls, catering from a variety of world cuisines as well as a large fun-fair with dodgems, waltzers and extreme rides.

The jam-packed programme of arena events includes the opportunity to meet the Minions, the Step 'n' Style Dance Group, the Dojo Karate Academy and much more.

Other highlights include a display of vintage cars, while the Police, Fire Service and Army will be offering the community advice as well as providing fun and enjoyment for families.

There's something for the pooches too with a dog show throughout the afternoon with a range of categories, from the 'waggiest tail' to 'the best child handler' for dogs and their owners to enter.

Visitors can also enjoy a licensed bar and a variety of live music from Misha Dawn, Riccardo and the headliners, Better Than We Look.

Rob Barker, chairman of the HCA, said: "Last year saw the most successful show seeing over 10,000 visitors throughout the day. It has become a highly-anticipated event within the local community.

"Events like these cannot go ahead without the help of local businesses and volunteers. We all look forward to a show that will be bigger and better than ever before."

Visitors to the show are advised to walk or catch the bus as there is strictly no parking onsite apart from for blue badge holders and the surrounding roads are normally extremely busy.
