Lost Ladybird Trail at Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum

Head along to the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum on Gloucester Docks to find 25 lost Ladybird books hidden around the museum. This is part of the museum's Ladybird exhibit that has seen events across the summer holidays including talks by Ladybird book enthusiast Helen Day and artefacts and original artwork from the book series.

Tickets for this event are sold subject to a donation fee- as much as the event is deemed worth of.

Watch Tudor jousting at Berkeley Castle

Knights and their stunning steeds from the Cavalry of Heroes battle it out in a spectacular jousting display in the Berkeley Castle grounds on Sunday, August 29th - complete with incredible saddle stunts! You'll get a chance to meet the gallant Knights and their horses after each show to ask questions and see their impressive armour and weapons. His majesty, King Henry VIII, will also be in residence along with his six wives and Thomas Cromwell. Their shows in the Castle's Great Hall will entertain and educate with the best Tudor history lesson you'll ever have!

The Big Batsford Hedgehog Hunt

Batsford Arboretum have been holding a hedgehog hunt throughout the summer holidays. Kids can get active and walk around through the trees, finding hedgehogs along their way. A map will be given to each child to pinpoint where they find hedgehogs, with the chance of winning a prize if they hand it back in at the end!

Pixie Village at Sudeley Castle

Treat the children to a magical walk through the pixie camp at the nature trail of Sudeley Castle. Whether your children are fans of the mischief-making Cornish pixies from Harry Potter or the clever and cunning creatures from Artemis Fowl, kids of all ages will delight in discovering tiny homes of the woodland people through their magical village at the Cotswold attraction.

From Fairytale Book House to the Portobello Penthouse, young visitors are invited to take part in pixie themed tasks, along the outdoor nature trail, learning fun facts about pixies from their colourful dwellings to charming companions.

Family fun at Over Farm summer trail

Gloucester's Over Farm has had an array of events on every day of the summer holidays to entertain children of all ages. The local farm famous for its farm shop, music festival and Halloween events has branched out into family fun events over the summer.

This includes exciting tractor-trailer and quad bike train rides through the fields, a new football golf course and a maize maze. Other attractions that have been around for a couple of months include fun jumping pillows to take all the energy out of little ones (that's always a good thing, eh?), a double high slide and a bird hideout.

Saturdays call for superheroes, with a superhero dress-up competition being held. Sundays are for learning about all the farming equipment and machinery that gets used on the farm every day. Mondays are for magic as magician Adam Richards will come along for a fun-filled day.
