Half term fun for all the family in Tewkesbury

Tewkesbury Borough Council has announced a fantastic line-up of events and activities taking place throughout the February half term.

Starting tomorrow (Saturday, February 15) to Sunday, February 23, there is something for everyone. Families are encouraged to explore the rich history, vibrant culture and beautiful natural landscapes of the borough.

Step back in time and discover the past:

February 15 - 23: Living history Tudor tours at The Merchant's House, Church Street, Tewkesbury. Immerse yourselves in the sights, sounds and stories of Tudor England.

February 21 and 22: Living history tours - Medieval spice merchant at The Merchant's House, Church Street, Tewkesbury. Delve into the world of medieval trade and discover the exotic spices that arrived in Tewkesbury from distant lands.

Get creative:

February 15 - 23: Inspired by nature at Nature In Art. Wallsworth Hall, Twigworth, GL2 9PA. Explore the natural world through art with exhibitions and workshops designed to spark creativity and appreciation for the environment.

February 17 and 18: Half-term family workshops - 10am-12noon and 1pm-3pm at Tewkesbury Abbey. This free event invites families to discover the history and architecture of Tewkesbury Abbey through engaging activities. Booking required.

February 19 and 20: Spring flower cards - Half-term children's workshop 10am-12noon (drop-in) at the Old Baptist Chapel, Church Street, Tewkesbury. Let your creativity bloom with this fun card-making workshop.

Explore and play:

February 19: Play Gloucestershire - Play Rangers 10am-4pm at The Vineyards, Tewkesbury, GL20 5PG. This free drop-in event offers a range of outdoor play activities for children of all ages.

February 20: Museum walk - New shoots 11am at the John Moore Museum. Discover the fascinating stories behind the museum's collections on this guided walk.

February 20: Play Gloucestershire - Play Rangers 10am-4pm at Northway Playing Fields, Tewkesbury, GL20 8GL. Another opportunity to enjoy free outdoor play activities with Play Gloucestershire.

February 21: Family fun Friday - Bird boxes and nature stomp. 10.30am-12noon (£10, Children aged 6+ booking essential) at Cleeve Hill. Connect with nature and learn about local wildlife with this fun and educational event. Visit Cleeve Common's website.

February 22: Tudor birds of prey at The Old Baptist Chapel, Church Street, Tewkesbury. Experience the majesty of birds of prey and learn about their role in Tudor times.

Take flight:

February 19: Jet Age Museum. Additional opening for half term 10am-4pm at Meteor Business Park, Cheltenham Road East, GL2 9QL. Explore the history of aviation and marvel at the impressive collection of aircraft.

"From exploring our rich history through interactive tours and workshops, to encouraging creativity and outdoor play, there is something to inspire and engage every member of the family."
