Guided walk along the Stroudwater Canal

Enjoy a guided walk along the Stroudwater canal this Saturday (June 26) from 10am to 12pm.

Come and meet at the Stonehouse Court Hotel to enjoy a guided walk along the canal to Ryeford Lock and back.

The walk will take you through the history of the canal and its restoration that started in the 1970s. You will hear of the huge efforts that are taking place during the next stage of the restoration Phase 1B Stonehouse to Saul Junction that has recently commenced.

Walking time is for approximately 90 minutes along the towpath (bring your wellies). After the walk, gather in the gardens of Stonehouse Court Hotel where you can find out more about membership and volunteering or maybe book a canal boat trip to experience the canal corridor from the water.

The cost is £5 per person and parking is on a first-come-first-serve basis in the hotel car park. There is plenty of additional parking on Church Lane.

Book online here or via the Cotswold Canals Trust office at 01453 752568 or email mail@cotswoldcanals.org.uk
