Go potty about The Muck Show
By David Wood | 8th July 2021
Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust is hoping people will go potty about a new show it's staging this summer - focusing on animal POO!
The Muck Show will be held at two of the Trust's nature reserves - Greystones Farm in Bourton-on-the-Water and Coaley Peak near Stroud - on four dates: July 30th and August 6th, 13th and 20th.
"Each event date will include live performances, activities such as owl pellet dissection and quizzes, and takeaway activity packs to encourage families to become wildlife champions in their own back gardens," said a Trust spokesperson.
"The live performances will be delivered by Eddie The Environmentalist, a lively character determined to pass on his passion for local wildlife, their tracks....and their poo!
"Families can discover more about some of Gloucestershire's star species like badgers, otters and owls - including what they eat and where they live."
Nicola Simpson, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's engagement manager added: "We've been delivering events for years - showcasing all of the wonderful wildlife we have in Gloucestershire - but The Muck Show is something new.
"We wanted to create an accessible experience that everyone can enjoy - even if they're at the very start of their journey to becoming a wildlife champion.
"The Muck Show takes what seems like a very simple subject - poo - and encourages the audience to discover more about the wildlife around us, and what we can all do to help it."
