Gloucester Christmas Road Run set to return

The Gloucester Christmas Road Run, a procession of festively lit and decorated tractors from the local area, is set to return to Gloucestershire on Sunday, December 14, for the fourth consecutive year.

Starting at 4:30pm at the Rose & Crown in Redmarley, the procession will move on through Staunton, Ashleworth, Hartpury, Maisemore, Longford and aims to reach St Oswalds between 7pm and 7:30pm.

The tractor procession has grown in popularity over the years; in 2021 the procession consisted of 20 tractors, in 2022 this number increased to 50 and last Christmas that had grown again to 85. While it is not yet known how many tractors will be taking part, the number is expected to increase from last year.

The spectacle is a must-see for the whole family, and there will be volunteers collecting donations for the Pied Piper Appeal and other charities along the route.

Hamish Grundy, one of the organisers of the Gloucester Christmas Road Run, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be bringing the Gloucester Christmas Road Run back for another year. It's incredible to see how the event has grown; the joy and excitement this brings to families and locals is what makes it all worthwhile, and we're looking forward to lighting up the roads with festive spirit once again.

"It's all for a good cause, and we're hoping to make this year's run is our best one yet."

Jason Robinson, senior destination manager for St Oswalds, said: "We're delighted to welcome the Gloucester Christmas Road Run to St Oswalds again this year. It's such a special event that brings a festive glow and a real sense of community to the area.

"Seeing the joy it brings to families and knowing it supports wonderful causes makes it even more meaningful. We're excited to be the final stop, and we can't wait to celebrate the festive season with everyone who comes along."
