Gloucester am-dram group needs help with panto

A Gloucester-based amateur dramatic group is preparing for its next panto in the new year - but it needs your help!

BADCo stage a family panto for charity every February and their next production is Robin Hood, taking place from February 20 to 22 at St Barnabas Church Hall in Gloucester.

Director Anna Eaton said: "The group is having great fun putting the show together and would love as many people as possible to join the fun by coming to see the show. We also welcome support in other ways to help us raise funds for our chosen charity this year, The Chamwell Centre Trust.

"We always run a tombola as part of our front of house activities and would welcome donations of prizes. We also have an Amazon wishlist  that people can buy from to help us get bits and pieces for props and costumes and we will be selling advertising space in our programme.

"We have a brand new website too where you can look back over all BADCo's previous productions from the last 30 years!

The show itself is set in the time of King Richard I, but he is gone, held captive in faraway lands and his brother Prince John has usurped the throne and is using his powers to tax the good folk of Nottingham of everything they have. Who can stop him?

The outlaw Robin Hood lives in nearby Sherwood Forest with his band of Merry Men (and women!) and does his best to help the Nottingham villagers, sharing any gold coins that fall into his hands from the rich travellers passing through the forest. But is it enough?

Can Robin bring down Prince John and re-capture the heart of his childhood sweetheart Marian? Or will it need someone else to save the day - Marian maybe?

With Merry Men, a dastardly Sheriff and lots more fun characters, BADCo's Robin Hood is full of songs, dance and action and will provide entertainment for the whole family.

Last year's show raised £3,250 for the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
