Fund-raising concert for people of Ukraine

A special fund-raising concert for the people of Ukraine will take place at Chapel Arts in Cheltenham on Sunday, March 13th.

Acclaimed pianist Robin A Smith will be playing the concert at the Knapp Road venue from 11am.

Sallie Taylor of Chapel Arts said: "We are keen to do something to raise funds for the devastating crisis in Ukraine, so with the generous offer of help from pianist Robin A Smith we have sorted a hurried fund-raising concert for 13th March.

"Robin is sorting a programme right now, but has told me he will play some Randy Newman, Burt Bacharach, Morricone, a bit of Jazz and Classical - to make it a very beautiful morning.

"We just hope we get a lot of support. I'm sure a lot of other people are doing their own thing individually but it's just another opportunity to raise some money.

"No tickets are required but there will be a bucket for donations and every penny will go to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Please come and support us in this small gesture."

Looking further ahead, Robin will also be performing at Chapel Arts on Wednesday, May 18th when, with radio presenter, writer and producer Kevin Howlett, he will be presenting an evening of the greatest Cinema music of the century - some of the most iconic and evocative music of our lifetime - with the backstories.

Check the Chapel Arts website for updates.
