Free half-term pet workshops

During the February half-term, children are invited to Pets at Home stores in Cheltenham and Gloucester to discover how to meet and interact with animals appropriately.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about wild birds and how to care for them throughout the winter months.

There will also be the opportunity to enjoy free activities such as creating their own wild bird and putting together their own winter food mix to feed the birds in their garden.

At the end of the interactive workshop, children will get a My Pet Pals certificate and sticker, plus the chance to meet some of the pets in store.

Starting on Saturday, February 1, the workshops will run on the below dates at 2pm lasting for 45 minutes - to book your place head to the Pets at Home website here

  • Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 February
  • Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 February
  • Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 February

Dr Samantha Butler-Davies BVSc MRCVS, veterinary services director at Pets at Home, said: "With another school break comes another exciting My Pet Pals workshop! This initiative offers children across the UK essential knowledge on how to care for wild birds that might visit their garden all year round but especially during the winter, with the help of our knowledgeable in-store pet care advisors.

"Over the years, more than 400,000 kids have taken part in the My Pet Pals programme, highlighting our dedication to educating the next generation about responsible animal care."
