Gloucestershire Heritage Hub in Alvin Street, Gloucester, is holding an open day on Sunday, September 2, and there will be fun and interesting activities for all ages.
The free event between 10am and 4pm is open to all, and there will be lots to see and do. Join a behind-the-scenes guided tour, take part in a treasure hunt and meet our family-friendly highwayman.
As part of the Gloucester History Festival, the heritage hub open day will give local people an exclusive preview inside the new and refurbished buildings.
Car parking is available at Kingsholm Stadium for free, by kind permission of Gloucester Rugby Club.
Heather Forbes, head of the archives service at Gloucestershire County Council and South Gloucestershire Council, said: "Gloucestershire County Council and our partners are all so excited to welcome the public to our new facilities.
"The Heritage Hub project will future-proof the archives service and I'm pleased to see it is nearing completion. I hope everyone thoroughly enjoys looking around our new facilities and discovering what archives we hold here."
Cllr Ray Theodoulou, cabinet member for finance and change, said: "This is an important project for Gloucestershire. I am delighted that we are able to give local people a preview of the new facilities.
"I would like to thank staff, volunteers and partners for all their hard work in making the Heritage Hub a reality."
