Family fun at the museum this half-term (and beyond...)

There's plenty of fun to be had at the Museum of Gloucester and Gloucester Tourist Information Centre this half-term (and beyond).

Explore the museum with the roarsome 'Reggie the Raptor' Trail through time and take-home family craft activity goody bags.

Trail sheets and bags are available to buy at reception when you visit the museum... Trail sheets are by donation. Goody bags cost £4 per child (and £5 with trail).

Meanwhile, the museum has a new engagement wall, thanks to artist Tim Martin, aka SLAZ, who was inspired by museum objects to make a cool blackboard for visitors to enjoy.

Slaz said: "As an artist it has been really great to work alongside the museum and the awesome staff that run it.

"I was given a tour on arrival and was blown away by the knowledge of the staff and the variety of exhibits. I thought I knew a bit about the history of the area before I went but I now realise there's so much more to know.

"I can't wait to get back in there and further my knowledge and interest about the roots of Gloucester from prehistoric to present day.

"This experience has really helped inform my practice as an artist to make sure my illustrations are more authentic and based on fact. Very inspirational too."

Uncovering Gloucester's past and shaping our future, the Museum of Gloucester is:

  • Welcoming, inspiring and engaging
  • Representing and empowering our communities
  • Sharing and collecting powerful stories
  • Innovative and forward thinking
  • Sustainable with a social and environmental focus
