Discover extraordinary women of Stroud

Where: Museum in the Park, Stratford Park, Stroud

When: Thursday, September 6, 2pm - 4pm

Find out about some extraordinary women of Stroud at a Heritage Open Day event at the Museum in the Park.

Join author Avalon Weston for a talk exploring the lives of the women of her family who lived in the Stroud District in the early 20th century.

From Gabrielle, who became one of Britain's first female police officers in the munitions factories of World War One, to Joan Mary who was a prolific local artist who produced over 300 paintings and sketches during her lifetime.

There will also be opportunity to meet the museum's curator and see some of Joan Mary's sketchbooks from the collection.
