Exclusive screening of This Country in Gloucestershire

Where: Bingham Hall, Cirencester

When: Monday, February 5

BBC Three is giving Gloucestershire fans the chance to see the new series of hit comedy This Country before anyone else.

The critically-acclaimed series, set in the Cotswold village of Northleach, is back for a second series and local fans are being offered the chance to see it first.

A preview screening is being held at the Bingham Hall in Cirencester on Monday, February 5. Tickets are free and are allocated through a ballot.

Those who get tickets will join the cast and production team for the screening of two episodes of the new series followed by a question-and-answer session hosted by BBC Points West's Steve Knibbs.

Steve Knibbs announced more details of the ticket ballot live on BBC Radio Gloucestershire this morning (Monday, January 15).

This Country, written by and starring Gloucestershire-based siblings Daisy and Charlie Cooper, is a mockumentary exploring the lives of young people in modern rural Britain. The new series continues to focus on cousins Kerry and Lee 'Kurtan' Mucklowe and their lives in a typical Cotswold village.

The first series of the show won over critics and has been watched more than four million times on BBC iPlayer.

The stars of the series, Charlie and Daisy Cooper, are expected at the event along with producer Simon Mayhew-Archer and director Tom George.

Simon Mayhew-Archer, producer of This Country, said: "The reaction to the first series of This Country was fantastic and we are hoping fans love this next look at the lives of Kerry and Kurtan just as much. It's an honour to be previewing it in Cirencester, a place which Daisy and Charlie are proud to call home."

The ticket draw opened at 9am today and closes on 10pm on Sunday, January 21. Everyone who registers will be entered into a random draw. To apply for tickets go to www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours

The second six-episode series of This Country is set to return to BBC Three in Spring 2018.

The whole first series is available to view on BBC iPlayer as a box set.
