Enchanted Christmas returns to Westonbirt this December

Where: Westonbirt Arboretum, near Tetbury

When: Saturday, December 1, to Sunday, December 23

The immensely popular Enchanted Christmas event is returning to the National Arboretum at Westonbirt this December.

As night falls, the trees of Westonbirt Arboretum light up, transforming the landscape into a magical Christmas wonderland.

The illuminated trail is a world of twinkling lights, breathtaking illuminated spectacles and interactive displays scattered amongst the world-famous tree collection.

Old favourites will be returning to the trail, as well as some new features to amaze the whole family.

This year, there will be an all-new Christmas village, where visitors will be able to soak up some seasonal cheer by listening to Christmas choirs, having a go on traditional Christmas fairground rides and perhaps catching a glimpse of some beloved Christmas characters ... who knows, perhaps if we're all very good, Father Christmas may drop by with his elves...?

Paul Cody, head of visitor attraction at Westonbirt Arboretum said: "We are delighted that Enchanted Christmas will be returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this year!

"It's one of the highlights of the year for both staff and visitors, bringing visitors from all over the country to take in the beauty of the arboretum at night, lit up with stunning light spectacles.

"Enchanted Christmas is very popular so advanced booking is essential. To help everyone relax and enjoy the trail, tickets have fixed entry times every 20 minutes. It is important for people be at the entrance to the trail promptly for their selected entry times."

The trail is all on hard paths through the arboretum, and is fully accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams.

Enchanted Christmas 2018 will run from 4pm to 9pm on:

  • Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December
  • Friday 7 to Sunday 9 December
  • Friday 14 to Monday 17 December
  • Friday 21 to Sunday 23 December
