Delivering an education of character

Where: The King's School Gloucester

When: Saturday, October 6, 9.30am-12.30pm

For parents looking for a forward-thinking, pupil-centred, inspirational education for their child - a visit to a King's open day is a must.

The King's School Gloucester is the leading Independent Day School in the area, with 600 pupils, girls and boys, aged three to 18.

King's offers academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care and a unique programme to identify and develop individual talents.

The inspiring Cathedral setting is unequalled, giving the school and its pupils a special sense of identity.

Increasingly, families throughout Gloucestershire are sending their children to King's for a great all-round education and our countywide bus service makes it very accessible for all.

Our results in 2018 were truly outstanding: 99% of our Sixth Form pupils achieved Grades A* to C in their A levels and BTEC courses and 100% of our GCSE pupils achieved five or more GCSEs at Grades 9 - 4 (A* to C), with 54% of them gaining Grades 9 - 7 (A* / A).

These excellent results, which compare favourably with selective schools in the area, demonstrates King's tradition of academic success.

However, the school's ambition for its pupils does not begin and end with exam results; King's prides itself on developing the well-rounded individual.

Music, sport and drama play a very important role in school life and our pupils are actively encouraged to participate in the many extra-curricular activities on offer.

Headmaster David Morton is proud of the pupils' achievements, the high standards of behaviour, and their tremendous enthusiasm for school life.

He says: "For all achievements and results, however, it is the feel of a school that is important. Visitors are often struck by the strong sense of community, and importantly, as a day school, family time is valued, with no Saturday school - although plenty of sport and extra-curricular activities are on offer!"

The best way to find out more about King's is to visit us and experience this unique environment for yourself.

King's next whole school Open Morning is on Saturday, October 6, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
