Cyclists gear up for ride in aid of LINC charity
By David Wood | 30th April 2021
Cyclists are being urged to saddle up this summer and support a charity ride across some beautiful countryside.
The 3 Counties Cycle Ride takes place on Sunday, July 18, and takes in the countryside of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
This will be held on Sunday 18 July and there will be a staggered start from Tewkesbury Rugby Club.
There are the two options of a 32k or 64k through the most stunning countryside. The route will be well signposted and the map will be available to download on GPS systems.
Money raised will go towards the Gloucestershire-based LINC charity (Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund).
A LINC spokesperson said: "It is a fabulous event which never fails to be enjoyed by our enthusiastic cyclists. It is renowned for the beautiful scenery en route.
"As you can imagine, it has been a tough year for LINC with all our main fundraising events having to be cancelled.
"We are now looking forward to welcoming back some sort of normality and the team are busy rebooking some of these events.
"We rely heavily on the kind support of volunteers to marshal the route to help keep the riders on the right track and to cheer them on their way."
"Please try to raise funds through sponsorship - we are raising money to support the role of the LINC Clinical Psychologists. These roles are increasing vital during these challenging times.
This year we have fabulous LINC Cycle Jerseys to purchase for the ride - available to purchase online or on the day.
If you have some time to spare on this date to come along and man one of the marshal points for the cyclists, organisers would love to hear from you. Please call the LINC office on 0300 422 4422 for further information.
This event is kindly sponsored by Creed Foodservice and Thomson and Bancks.
