“Culture hop” around The Wilson on the first Thursday of every month

Where: Clarence Street, Royal Well Road, St George's Place and Church Street (Cheltenham)

When: Starts 1 November between 6-9pm

First Thursdays is a brand new evening of cultural events happening around The Wilson on the first Thursday of every month.

For the first time local bars, restaurants and shops are coming together with The Wilson, Cheltenham's Art Gallery and Museum, to find creative ways to engage visitors in a multidimensional experience.

On the first Thursday of the month a cultural hub of food, music, performance, art and retail - all within walking distance and outside of traditional working hours - will come together along Clarence Street, Royal Well Road, St George's Place and Church Street.

This Thursday 1st of November between 6-9pm, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum will play host to live painting, Cheltenham Maman goes Pop! late night shopping, comic poetry with Shirley Halse, the chance to discover the Museum by Torchlight late into the night and a talk by curator Sophia Wilson on the glitz and glamour of our tiara collection. The Wilson is part of The Cheltenham Trust, a charity dedicated to enriching the lives of residents and visitors through art, culture, heritage, sport, play and performance throughout the town.

On the same night, hop from The Wilson to long established independent record shop Badlands Records, purveyor of the very best in vintage clothing and homeware Malone's Vintage, premier tabletop gaming centre Incom Gaming and pizza and live music house The Stable in Cheltenham to try something new. Catch some live music, see some live comedy and get inspired with some live drawing while enjoying a few drinks and a bite to eat.

Keep your eyes open for the official #FirstThursdaysChelt Facebook events page for the line-up of what's to come, along with a map of participating venues.

First Thursdays is a public event and free to attend. The cultural quarter stays open until 9pm or later on the first Thursday of every month.
