Cotswold District Council unwraps another holiday programme
By David Wood | 27th November 2024
Cotswold District Council has announced the return of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme for winter 2024.
In partnership with Gloucestershire County Council and local community organisation World Jungle, this initiative offers an exciting line-up of festive activities and nutritious meals aimed at supporting children and families in the community during the Christmas break.

The winter programme of activities and events will provide young people with opportunities to have fun with their friends, learn and develop new skills. There is a diverse range of activities to participate in, including circus skills, activity camps and cooking classes.
The Winter Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) program will be running from December 21 to January 3 with specific eligibility criteria, catering to children in school reception classes up to year 11 who are recipients of benefits-related free school meals.
Also running this winter, The Holiday Activity Programme (HAP) is offered to all children between the ages of four and 16 across the district, regardless of free school meal eligibility.
Cllr Claire Bloomer, cabinet member for communities, said: "We're thrilled to bring the Holiday Activities and Food programme back to the Cotswolds for another school holiday.
"This initiative not only provides children with engaging activities but also supports families with healthy, nourishing meals at a time when it's needed most. We're committed to making this holiday season a joyful and inclusive time for all our residents."

They are on hand to help with booking activities and signposting families to other agencies where a need has been identified.

The HAF programme aligns with the council's dedication to supporting community health and well-being, especially for families facing the challenges of rising costs this winter.
This year's activities are sure to brighten the holiday season, helping families make lasting memories while feeling supported.
