Churches gearing up for The Big Quiz Night

Where: Various venues in Gloucestershire

When: Saturday, November 17

Quiz buffs around Gloucestershire are set to take part in the largest multi-venue general knowledge quiz ever held in the UK.

Churches around the county are gearing up to host The Big Quiz Night on Saturday, November 17, joining with hundreds of other churches across the land on the same evening.

The event is being organised by the Christian charity Tearfund and all proceeds will go towards its work with the world's poor.

A Tearfund spokesman said it was the first event of its kind they had organised but they were hoping that over 1,000 churches would hold fund-raising events at churches and venues across the UK.

In Gloucestershire, The Big Quiz Night is set to take place in a variety of locations, including Christ Church, Malvern Road, Cheltenham; Brunswick Baptist Church, Southgate Street, Gloucester; Grange Baptist Church, Grange Road, Gloucester; Bussage Village Hall, near Stroud; The Hub, Tobacconist Road, Stroud; and Wotton Baptist Church, Rope Walk, Wotton-under-Edge.
