Choral masterpiece to be performed in stunning setting

Where: Parish Church of St John Baptist, Cirencester

When: Saturday, March 14, 7pm

Stroud Choral Society, conducted for the last time by their renowned musical director Huw Williams, with four internationally recognised soloists and the Bristol Ensemble orchestra, will perform Bach Mass in B Minor on Saturday (March 14).

The B Minor Mass is widely regarded as an outstanding piece of sacred music - one of classical music's supreme achievements.

Written around 1740, it was not performed in full until 1859 - when Stroud Choral Society was already over 10 years old!

The choir, of well over 100 voices, is one of the largest, and certainly the oldest established choirs in the Cotswolds.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear this highly-praised choir and orchestra perform this magnificent, iconic piece of music.
